Module 1 · New Team Member Training
Prepare for Your Day of Photos & Videos
Before you visit a single business, get ready at home. Six quick steps keep you working efficiently, avoid delays, and make sure you look professional at every door.

Your goal
Leave home fully prepared — complete all 6 steps before you start your day.
- Work efficiently — no stops to fix what you forgot
- Look professional at every business you visit
- Capture better photos and videos with a clean, ready phone
- Never head out with a low battery or a full camera roll
- Never skip the manager check-in
💡 REQUIRED: 6 steps before you leave. A few minutes now saves you a wasted trip later.
Fully charge your phone
REQUIRED: 100% before you leave

Your phone is your most important tool for the day.
Before you go
- Phone is 100% charged before leaving
- Bring a portable charger or power bank if you have one
- Bring your charging cable in case you need it
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Photos, videos and Google Maps drain a battery fast. A dead phone means a dead workday.
Check your storage space & camera
REQUIRED: Free space, clean lens

You will take many photos and videos today — your phone needs room for all of them.
Quick phone check
- Enough available storage for the whole day
- Remove unnecessary files or apps if you are low
- Camera works properly
- Lens is clean so photos and videos come out clear
✅ TIP: Take one test photo and one short video before you start, so you know everything is working.
Wear your yellow or orange safety vest
REQUIRED: On the whole work period

Your yellow or orange work vest is required while working.
Vest rules
- Wear your vest when visiting businesses
- Make sure it is clean and clearly visible
- Keep it on throughout your assigned work period
Your vest shows people you are a team member working on a local business project — and it makes you look professional.
🚧 Remember: a vest identifies you, but it does not let you walk into restricted areas. Stay in the customer and public areas of a business.
Bring your informational flyers
REQUIRED: One flyer per counter

The flyers explain who we are and what we are doing — they do the talking for you.
Flyer rules
- Bring enough flyers for every business you plan to visit
- Keep them clean and presentable
- Have one ready as you walk in
- Use the flyer to explain our FREE local business listing service
✅ IMPORTANT: The flyer shows a business that you represent a legitimate local business directory project. Drop it at the counter, then start shooting.
Check in with your manager
REQUIRED: Before your workday starts

Tell your manager you are ready before you start.
Say these three things
- You are ready to begin
- Which city or shopping center you are starting in
- That you have your phone, safety vest and flyers
📱 Example check-in message
“Good morning! I'm ready to start my photo and video assignments. I have my vest, flyers, and phone ready. I'll be starting at [shopping center or location].”
⚠️ Do not forget to check in — it helps us coordinate the team and know which areas are covered.
Dress professionally & wear comfortable shoes
REQUIRED: You will be on your feet all day

What to wear
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Clean, professional-looking clothing
- Your required yellow or orange safety vest
- Weather-appropriate clothing
